Potret Indonesia will invite you to experience the amazing encounter with the culture and traditions of the Dani Tribe in Papua by visiting their traditional village and attending the Baliem Valley Festival.

In the traditional village, you will participate in the traditional stone burning ceremony with the local tribe. Moreover, friends can capture many interesting moments including traditional war performances, dances, songs, and musical performances depicting the life of the Hubula (Dani) Tribe in Papua during the Baliem Valley Festival.

You will encounter representatives from the Dani, Yali, and Lani Tribes. Both men and women will attend the festival wearing their traditional attire. The men will wear koteka, while women will wear traditional skirts and carry noken bags. Their faces will also be adorned with various traditional ornaments, such as mikak (necklaces) and wamaik (pig tusks).

The Baliem Valley Festival is an annual event organized by the Jayawijaya Regency Government. Its purpose is not only to attract tourists but also to preserve the cultural values of Papua and promote Papua as a whole.
