Pacu Jawi, also known as cow racing, is a unique tradition of cow racing typical to the Minangkabau culture, particularly in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. Pacu Jawi is usually held after the harvest season as a form of gratitude for the abundant harvest.

The tradition of Pacu Jawi has a unique philosophy, depicting the leadership and common people walking together. This philosophy is based on the Pacu Jawi activity, where two cows are used.

The winner of this race is not necessarily the fastest participant, but the one who can run straight, earning the highest score. The uniqueness of Pacu Jawi lies in the absence of competitors in the race. Allegedly, this approach is taken to prevent betting, unlike typical races.

Beyond witnessing the excitement of Pacu Jawi, Potret Indonesia will also invite friends to visit the traditional handwoven fabric craftsmen in Sikek. Capturing the sunrise at Tabiang Takuruang and visiting the city's icon, Jam Gadang.

Throughout the trip, you will be mentored by @ranarpradiptoindonesia_ to capture the excitement of Pacu Jawi and the beauty of Tanah Minang.
