This time, Potret Indonesia will invite you to capture the vibrant celebration of Vesak at Borobudur Temple, which serves as the focal point for the Buddhist community in Indonesia and even worldwide.

Vesak Day is commemorated on the full moon day in May or June every year to mark the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha. The Vesak celebration ritual usually starts from Mendut Temple, then moves to Pawon Temple, and culminates at Borobudur Temple. At Borobudur, they will sit and recite prayers, followed by meditation.

The peak of the Vesak celebration is the release of lanterns. Releasing lanterns symbolizes releasing hopes and prayers offered during Vesak moments. Thousands of lanterns with bright light rising into the air are considered one of the symbols of the light of peace. This moment is highly sought after by photography and videography enthusiasts.

You will also visit Jomblang Cave. Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave formed due to the collapse of land and vegetation caused by geological processes. This collapse resulted in a sinkhole or a pit with the cave mouth about 50 meters wide. As a result, Jomblang Cave became a conservation area for ancient plants at the cave's bottom.

In here, you will be treated to the sight of sunlight entering the cave and shining on the flowstone, known as the 'light of heaven.' However, its beauty can only be enjoyed at specific times, especially between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM local time when the sun directly illuminates the mouth of Jomblang Cave, provided the weather is clear.

Not only that, you will also be invited to witness the tofu-making process in Magelang, capture the sunrise at Jungwok Beach, as well as the sunset at Watu Lumbung Beach.
